About Trailside Park

Trailside Park is a 60-acre community hub offering a wide range of recreational activities for all ages.

The park features expansive green spaces, sports fields, courts, a skatepark, bike park, and two playgrounds, making it an ideal spot for both locals and visitors looking to enjoy the natural beauty and recreational opportunities of the area. A multi-use paved trail also loops around the park.

Pets must be leashed at all times, except in designated off-leash areas and are not permitted in the playground area.

The Trailside Park property was purchased in 1996 for the purpose of constructing the Basin’s first true community park. Construction was completed in 1999 and the much needed sports fields opened for play in 2000. At the time of development, Trailside Park was considered to be “built in the middle of nowhere”. Within a few years, several new residential areas and an elementary school became close neighbors.

Playground

The ‘lower’ playground is perfect for younger kids (ages 2-5) to play and explore and features swings, slides, and shaded picnic tables. The ‘upper’ playground (ages 5 and up) was fully remodeled in 2019 and transformed into a vibrant structure with climbing features, slides, swings, and interactive play. There is also a large pavilion adjacent to the upper playground.

Dog Park

Trailside Dog Park has two fenced areas, one for small dogs and another for large dogs. Each area features a mix of grass and native shrubs, benches, and shade shelters.  For additional off-leash adventures, head to Trailside Loop trail, a designated off-leash area and multi-use 1-mile loop trail.

Disc Golf Course

Built in 2016, the Trailside Disc Golf Course is 9-holes of unbelievable fun with longer downhill shots, uphill challenges, great exercise, and gorgeous views of the Wasatch Back. While there aren’t many trees, our natural mountain desert landscape offers thick sagebrush outside of fairways, so a spotter is recommended. Please follow signs and stay on established trails.  Players should be cautious of wildlife and mountain bikers. The course is part of the Trailside Loop trail, a designated off-leash dog area.

Playing Fields

Trailside Park features two large grass playing fields, nicknamed the ‘upper’ and ‘lower’ fields. When not in use by Basin Recreation programming, user groups, and tournaments, this is a popular spot for families and community members to enjoy a picnic or play a pickup game.
