About Trailside East Park
The District acquired the 68-acre parcel located on the northeast corner of Silver Creek Parkway and Trailside Drive in 2019 through a generous grant by Summit County.
In 2023, the District unveiled Trailside East Park which features multipurpose turf fields, ample parking, pavilions, singletrack trails, and proximity to Trailside Park and the Trailside Bike Park. Surrounding the 10-acre park is 58-acres of recreational open space and trail opportunities.
Pets must always be leashed on pathways and are not permitted on the synthetic turf.
Attractions
Playing Fields
Two multi-purpose turf fields are the park’s focal point, hosting soccer, lacrosse, and flag football games for Basin Recreation programming, user groups, and tournaments. The turf field may be plowed throughout the winter to allow year-round use by recreational teams.
Trails & Open Space
Trailside East Park provides year-round trail connections from surrounding neighborhoods to Trailside elementary school, in addition to other paved multi-use trails. The park also serves as the trailhead for Saved by the Bell and Sloppy Joe which are multi-use singletrack trails. In the winter months, pathways are either groomed or plowed allowing for year-round recreation. These trails wander through 58 acres of recreational open space and offer scenic views and can be a home to herds of elk. On-leash dogs are allowed on trails.
Pavilions
Located between the two fields, Trailside East features two large pavilions, one of which is available for reservation, while the other is available on a first come, first served basis. Pavilions feature ample shade and picnic tables.
