About Flying Dog Loop

The scenic views from this loop will have you howling at the moon.

Starting at the Spring Creek Trailhead, ride counterclockwise up Stealth Trail for 1.3 miles, where you’ll warm up with gradual climbs. Connect to Glenwild for 2.6 miles of flowing singletrack before tackling Cobblestone for 1.7 miles of aptly named technical terrain. Climb up another set of switchbacks as you enter Flying Dog trail before making it to the decent. After all your climbing, enjoy the nearly 4mile decent down the iconic Flying Dog Trail, known for its varied terrain and sweeping views. Transition to the 24-7 trail for 2.9 miles of rolling sections, before descending Stealth Trail for 1.5 miles back to Spring Creek Trailhead. This loop is most popular for mountain biking but could be completed on foot.

Ranger Tips

Most people ride Flying Dog counterclockwise, as described in this route. However, Flying Dog and all listed trails in this route are multi-use and multi-directional. Riders should use caution around blind turns and be prepared to encounter hikers while descending.

Dogs must be under restraint with a lead, leash, or e-collar, with the owner maintaining sight and voice control over the dog and a leash on hand.

E-bikes are NOT permitted on single-track trails. Exceptions apply for riders on a Class 1 e-bike age 65 or older or persons with mobility disabilities.
