Parks
Basin Recreation’s parks are community spaces for residents and visitors alike.
The District operates four community parks: Willow Creek Park, Matt Knoop Memorial Park, Trailside Park and Trailside East, each with a variety of amenities and unique experiences. In addition to our traditional community parks, Basin also provides a downhill bike park, a splash pad, a skate park, and a pump track, all of which are free and open to the public.

Pavilions
From community BBQ’s to birthday parties, pavilions are great gathering areas for up to 40 people. Pavilions feature picnic tables, ample shade, nearby restrooms, and are located at all Basin Recreation parks. Bookings can be made online, or there are several pavilions available on a first come, first served basis.
Dogs
There are several dog parks and designated off-leash areas within the Basin, as well as many spaces where dogs are welcome but must remain on leash. Please familiarize yourself with these areas prior to visiting and follow all posted signage. Dogs are never allowed in the Trailside Bike Park, in playground areas, on turf fields, or on designated Nordic trails.
Winter Use
Bundle up – dog parks, most trails, and fields remain open throughout the winter. Some turf fields are plowed to allow year-round play for local sports teams, but conditions may vary. Many parks also act as trailheads for Nordic skiing, as some trails are groomed for skate and classic skiing. Playgrounds and courts are closed due to safety.
Field Reservations
Many of Basin Recreation’s outdoor fields are available for reservation for your event, team practice, or tournament for a fee. Please visit the Event Reservation page to learn more.
FAQs
The Pond is typically open during the summer months for dogs to swim, and in the winter months for ice skating. While both operations are weather dependent, winter conditions need to be just right for skating, and therefore hours may vary. Visit the Willow Creek Park page often and check for a pond alert to see the status.
Nope, people are not allowed! The water in the pond is replenished from nearby streams and is also used to irrigate the park throughout the summer months. Since these are natural surface water sources we monitor and test the pond throughout the season. If harmful blue-green algae were present, the pond would close immediately, and remain closed until further testing was conducted. If your dog has a weakened immune system or you are concerned with the risk of exposure, consult your veterinarian before allowing your dog to swim.
No – all outdoor courts are available on a first-come, first served basis.

Yes – but please follow the appropriate leash laws. Dogs are never allowed in playground areas or on turf fields. For more information on recreating with your dog in the Snyderville Basin, visit the Dog Friendly Areas page.
Following a storm, Basin Recreation prioritizes plowing and snow removal on safe routes to school. Our Parks team does their best to clear turf fields, but unfortunately, it’s hard to give a timeframe.
Spring weather in the Park City area can vary widely and it’s not uncommon for the courts to be snow-covered through April. Once the courts are dry, our Parks team work diligently to install nets and hang wind screens. Outdoor courts will stay open as long as weather permits, typically into October.
No, snow removal by community members on turf fields or courts is prohibited. Basin Recreation does plow select turf fields for winter use as conditions permit.
E-bikes are allowed on commuter, multi-use pathways defined as paved or soft-surface trails 8 feet or wider. More information is available on the e-bike regulations page.
