History
The Snyderville Basin Special Recreation District (SBSRD) was established in 1986 by the Summit County Commission to provide recreation facilities and services for the growing population in the Snyderville Basin. Since then, Basin Recreation has aimed to enrich the lives of the greater Park City community and visitors by providing exceptional parks, trails, and recreational facilities while actively working with Summit County and state and local organizations.
Over the years, Basin Recreation has grown without pause and now oversees nearly 2,500 acres of open space, has built and/or maintains 185 miles of trails, operates a 87,000 square foot indoor Fieldhouse that serves over 340,000 per year, and manages several outdoor park facilities. Events, programs, fitness classes, and recreational opportunities for all ages are offered all year long to serve the community and visitors alike.
