Crispy mornings, pretty trees, and hazy skies.
This week we’ve started to re-mow all of our trail edges and winter Nordic trails (this will continue into next week), helped the Open Space department with a little perimeter trail in their pollinator garden, worked on some drainage in the bike park, and cleared any down trees on the Basin 5k.

Happy Friday! This week we’ve been repairing signs and painting more bridges, working on the new Run-A-Muk trail, and enjoying the beautiful fall colors.
Trail impacts: Today, Friday Sept. 20th there will be a helicopter flying for a couple of hours in afternoon near where mid mountain trail crosses in front of Red Pine Lodge at Park City Mountain for gondola work. There will be trail guards to ensure trail users can cross the area safely in between flights. Trail users may be asked to wait a few minutes while the helicopter makes trips to and from the area.
Should be another great weekend to be outside!

Lots of blue sky days this week, and some of the first fall colors are starting to emerge! As we prep for fall, the Trails team has been busy finishing up some projects.
Work has continued on the new Run-A-Muk trail, and the fence around the new RTS bathroom is now complete. Side veg work is done on Preserve Connector, and 24-7 has gotten some love this week.
Enjoy some of the cooler temps this weekend and get outside!

The rain giveth again!
This week We started side vegging down Preserve Connector, cleared a bunch more trees on Mid Mountain, and started construction on the new Run-A-Muk trail expansion. These expansion trails will remain closed until the new parking lot is completely finished. Please stay off these closed section as there will be heavy machinery.
Trail impacts: just about all of our commuter trails will be in use Saturday for the NAC Summit Challenge, and McLeod Creek trail has Art on the Trails Saturday as well.

Rain making up for its absence all summer! Trails are running great. We took advantage of the soil moisture to fix some drainage and tread on upper Cobblestone.
Also built a new reroute on upper Toll Creek trail around the old boardwalk.
There were several tree blow-overs on Mid Mountain, Rob’s, and Moose Puddle that were cleared yesterday.
Speaking of Mid Mountain! The Mid Mountain 50k is tomorrow. It starts at 6am from Silver Lake and runs north on Mid Mountain through Deer Valley, Park City, and Canyons resorts, crosses Olympic, down Moose Puddle and Iron Bill.
All trails remain open but be aware of, be kind to, step aside for, cheer on, all the runners from 6am-3pm.

Nice to have a little rain to start the week!
Continued with side veg on Mid Mountain between Armstrong and Spiro. Had a successful volunteer day on Toll New World cutting back vegetation. The new Silver Creek Village expansion trail is just about wrapped up. New ebike signage at trailheads and commuter pathways is starting to go up as well.
Thank you all for your patience with the closures at Willow Creek this week while both parking lots and the perimeter path got crack sealed and seal coated.
Have a great weekend!

Another hot, hazy, and dusty week.
Crew worked all week to get Pinecone Ridge fully side vegged!
-Tomorrow is our Downhill and Grill at Trailside Bike Park from 4pm-7pm. Swing on by for some bike laps, free bbq, chat with the trails team, local organizations, and smiles all around.
-Willow Creek will have limited parking next week as both lots and the perimeter trail are getting resurfaced. Lower lot will be closed Mon-Tues. Upper lot, perimeter trail, and dog park will be closed Wed-Thurs.
Stay hydrated.

Basin Trails Report:
It’s a Pioneer week rainy miracle! A well needed treat for our dusty trails. Conditions should primo out on the dirt today.
This week the entire bike park got a big hair cut, some new signage, and re-veg fencing. At Spring Creek Trailhead a new water fountain was installed, and the dog beach received a little face lift. A very cosmetic heavy week.
It’s busy in town with the Park City Extreme Cup in full swing for two more days. We encourage you all to go play in the mountains and explore something new or familiar.

Basin Trails Report :
It’s hot and dusty out there.
No big updates for the week. Crew finished up side vegging Flying Dog and we’re continuing to mow commuter asphalt and soft surface trail edges.
Stay hydrated out there and have a great weekend.

Basin Trails Report:
Hot, Dry, and Dusty out there! Embrace the dirt unibrow and mud braces if you’re group riding.
Crew has been out mowing trail edges on commuter trails and side vegging single track. We finished up Flying Dog this week and will be continuing down 24-7 next week.
Seal Coating on Millenium by Powderwood to Olympic parkway will continue today .
The new pit toilet at RTS is open.
Happy Trails partners!
June 28, 2024
Trails are all cleared and just that last lingering hike a bike top of Pinecone Ridge.
We’re starting side veg season. The east side of flying dog was finished and moved onto the west side. We’ll be continuing down through next week.
As stated yesterday- give equipment operators 50ft of clearance, wait until they acknowledge you, and approach only when waved on.
Rob’s Trailhead will be closed today and Monday for Summit County road work.
Next Tuesday we have a trail volunteer event at RTS from 8-12. Sign up can be found on our website.

Whelp, it was a fence fixin’, bridge buildin’, tree sawin’, culvert dropping’, weed poppin’, trail diggin’ type of week!
Just as we caught up with deadfall clearing that lovely northern frost of a windstorm came through to start the week. We’ll be out clearing the scattered remains from that on Mid Mountain, Ridge Connector, Ambush, and lower Pinecone today.
The upper eastern Flying Dog rebench project will be wrapping up today, and moved lower towards cobblestone next week.
All trails are full systems ago with the usual lingering snow crossings on the upper mile of Pinecone Ridge.

June 14, 2024
We’re just about there on trail openings! (Trees and Snow)
After today all of Mid-Mountain from king rd to the top of ambush will be clear of trees. Pinecone Ridge is still holding snow on the upper half in the pines. Another week of clearing trees!
We’re excited about the completion of a new puncheon bridge behind Trailside Elementary. This was an Eagle Scout Project, in collaboration with the trails department, and done masterfully.
East Flying Dog re-benching work is making some big progress and a great enhancement to that loop.

Braaaappp Braaappp, that’s the sound of a Stihl!
Chainsaws, hedge trimmers, metal tipped weed whips, these are a few of our favorite things. As we’re in the full swing of cutting deadfall to get trails open, and will soon begin to start clearing corridor vegetation, a couple reminders for trail users.
Assume we cannot see or hear you while on machines or working with small engine equipment. We check our surrounding regularly, so please give us about 20ft of space, wait until we acknowledge you, make eye contact, and allow for you to safely pass. This goes a long way for our safety and yours!
Trail updates include:
-Summit Park has all been cleared except lower toll canyon.
-The Canyons has all been cleared below Mid Mtn, except Red Coat and Insurgent.
-Mid Mountain is mostly clear of snow from King Rd to Armstrong. The Canyons side north facing ski runs still holding snow.
A big thank you to everyone who came out last weekend and helped with National Trails Day!!!
It was another busy week clearing trees following the snow line, sweeping commuter trails, re-painting faded lines, rebuilding a retention wall on one of our trails for Trailside Elementary neighborhood access.
One we’re really excited about is the upper east side of Flying Dog is getting a re-bench and fixing drainage issues. If you’re out there during the week, give Chris a smile and hello.
Happy Trails

Happy National Trails Day weekend! We’re grateful to be surrounded by so many amazing organizations and a passionate community that are all bonded by a common love. We give thanks to you all and the trails that lead us.
It was a big one for us leading up to this weekend. As we follow the snow line, winter’s normal destruction is proving itself once again. The team cleared all the deadfall from Princess Di, Hunters Trails, Pinebrook SE Perimeter, Moose Puddle, Olympic, Ambush, and Rosebuds Heaven.
Everything below 8000’ is in good shape with a few patches of snow. If you’re looking for some type two fun, Hunters Trail is running, but some big glacial crossing await your journey.
We’d like to also note it is calving season for moose. Please give them distance, keep your dogs on leash, and turn around if need be. We’re in their home.

Basin Trails Report
Snow, rain, shine repeat week, but the dirt be good right meow!
We had a big volunteer event Tuesday evening tuning up all the Discovery Ridge DH trails. Arcylon, Dead Reckoning, and Pale Green Dot are money.
Started to clear some mid upper elevation trails of the winter dead fall. Rob’s was a jungle, but cleared to the bench now. Flying Dog is soaring. Summit Park is surprisingly dry with some lingering big patches of snow. Hoping to start recon in the mid mountain line next week. Also started doing some tread work in Glenwild and Run-a-Muk from water blowouts.
Here’s the checklist:
~Glenwild: good to go
~Princess Di/ South Canyon: good to go, but still needs to be cleared of debris
~Trailside Bike Park: good to go
~RTS area: good to go
~Rob’s/ Canyons: good to go below the bench
~Summit Park: ok-ish with snow

Basin Trails Report
We spent the start of the week in Vernal, UT attending the Mountain West Trails Conference. It was great to learn and connect with professionals from all around the region!
Was also a big week in trail dry outs too! Thank you for those who were patient and respected any trail closures we had out there. So here’s the run down:
~Trailside Bike Park: is all open and riding well. This includes the new Bamm Bamm! Big shout out to the team for all the hard work that went into this project. It’s new. It’s an expert line. Pre-ride, re-ride, free-ride.
~Glenwild: is all a go, including Bobs Basin. The only hold up is western Flying Dog from the summit bench to Preserve Connector intersection. Give it another week please.
~RTS: all the trails below the UOP are running, including Iron Bill. Moose Puddle and Olympic have another week or two.
~Discovery Ridge: the downhill trails are close but need a little more time. Toll New World is good and makes for a nice out n back.
~Summit Park and Canyons still have a few weeks.

Friday Trails Report:
“The greatest deception men suffer from is their own opinion”- Leonardo da Vinci would like to remind us that despite the beautiful weekend ahead of us, the trails aren’t dry.
Winter gave us quite the mocking wink to start the week. We were out plowing commuter trails and trailhead parking lots both Monday and Tuesday mornings. Some cold nights since then held the moisture and it’s going to need at least through the weekend for the mid elevation trails to get back to where they were.
Same update as last Friday.
~Trailside bike park is good to go and your best option for dirt in the Basin.
~Glenwild: stay on the front east. Bobs Basin and Flying Dog are still a no go.
~RTS: mud
~Discovery: mud
~Summit Park: snow/ mud
~Rob’s / Canyons: snow/ mud
Happy Trails
May 3, 2024
We’re not mad… just a little disappointed. After a full recon yesterday, it was a bit sad to see the amount of mud damage from foot traffic and bikes. A few puddles are fine, but long stretches of mud, it’s time to turn around. A reminder to help with trail widening – go straight through the puddles, not around. This damage takes a lot of work to bring back and heal.
That being said, we had a great week putting the final touches on Bamm Bamm and hope to be trial testing next week, building rehab fences, throwing native seed on disturbances, evaluating lower elevation trails, and finished a full redo on an old trail section in Mtn Ranch Estates.
We had a lot of rain snow over night, small break in weather tomorrow, and winter is back Sunday through Wednesday next week. Pretty easy forecast for the weekend, assume it’s all slick.
-Glenwild: bobs basin is closed again until next weekend most likely. All of the back side is still melting out. If you do go out, go early if frozen, and stay on the front east side of Stealth and Blackhawk.
-RTS still a no go.
-Discovery is snow/ mud.
-Avenues on the west was good yesterday but will need a week now.
-Summit Park is snow/ mud
-Canyons / Rob’s area is snow/ mud.
-Bike Park will be closed through the weekend until next.
Let the trails breathe for a bit longer.
Happy Trails!
April 26, 2024
We’ll roll straight to it. The cliff-notes for the tread are please avoid! It’s looking like more of a book and a blanket type weekend than a wheels and heels. I know we were all starting to get that early dry out excitement, but NOAA has rain forecasted through Monday. Practice that inner Zen of patience until mid to late next week for any dirt related activities.
That being said ~ construction is back on track in the bike park with the big enhancements to Bamm Bamm. We’re hoping to have it reopened about mid to late May.
~Glenwild’s water line receded a little bit this last week. After the storm fully passes Bob’s Basin DH trails will be good to go! We recommend accessing them from Spring Creek and riding back along Rasmussen Rd trail. 24-7 between the top of Fink Again and Ant Farm is grease lightning. Anything above lower Cobblestone on the east and the bottom of Preserve Connector on the west are still mud / snow mix. So you guessed it… Flying Dog is still not ready to soar quite yet!
~Other usual suspects still on mud / snow hold include RTS, Discovery Ridge, and Summit Park.
Have a cozy weekend ya’ll!

Friday Basin Trails Report:
We’re excited to have finished wrapping up all the snow gear and spent some time on the asphalt and dirt the last two weeks. The team has been hard at work plowing away remaining snow drifts and blowing debris from the commuter trails. We’ve also been tuning up the bike park at Trailside and getting eyes on the lower elevation trails that everyone is eagerly waiting to adventure.
-Trailside Bike Park is all systems ago! (mostly) And being opened this morning. Respect the two closures at the top. Great Gazoo still has a significant amount of mud on the lower turns, and Bamm Bamm will remain under construction for the next month.
-The Trailside East singletrack, Saved By The Bell and Sloppy Joe are clear and in great condition.
-Glenwild is in its early days. Blackhawk and Stealth are safe to loop with only a few puddles and small snow patches. Bobs Basin and all of the backside remain a snow mud mix
-RTS is a sloppy mess! Please avoid.
Happy trails out there.
