Phase I of the Trailside Bike Park was completed in 2011 and encompassed 22 acres with 110 fee of elevation. In 2013, the Basin Recreation trails team designed and began construction on an expansion project which included an intermediate All-Mountain trail, an Advanced Freeride trail, a 7,200'sq pump track, and dual tabletop jumping lines. After moving over 18,000 cubic feet of dirt and about 500,000 pounds of stone, the expansion was completed in July 2014 and now with offering for all skill levels from beginner to expert the Trailside Bike Park is a family friendly, state-of-the-art, mountain biking facility.

ABOUT THE EXPANSION: The all-mountain trail features "techy and flowy" elements including drops, ramps, numerous wooden features, challenging rock gardens, and bermed turns. In comparison to the current intermediate trails, the new expert slope-style trail is larger and faster with 20' tabletop jumps, a 30' wall ride, and many technical high speed flow features. The jump training area features a progression of small to large tabletop jump sequences and includes two lines, one for beginners and one for more advanced riders.
