Basin Recreation Staff Changes as the New Year Begins - 1.15.2013
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Park City, Utah - Janaury 7, 2013
BASIN RECREATION STAFF CHANGES AS THE NEW YEAR BEGINS
As Basin Recreation continues to grow the demands on all of the staff have continued to increase. After thirteen years with the Snyderville Basin Recreation District, Trails Manager, Senta Beyer, resigned her position effective January 1, 2013 in order to see family balance and new opportunities that might better allow for that. "The many constituents who value trails in the greater Park City area have made my time with Basin Recreation personally rewarding" said Beyer. She emphasizes the importance of strong partnerships with landowners, governmental entities, non-profits and contractors, all of whom had a hand in implementing the successful Community-Wide Trails Master Plan.
District Director, Rena Jordan, has announced the reorganization of responsibilities and the promotion of Bob Radke to fill the vacancy left by Beyer. Radke was hired as a Trails Maintenance Coordinator in December 2002 and, as the system grew so did his position where he has served as Trails Maintenance Supervisor for several years. According to Jordan, "Radke is uniquely qualified for the position due to his tenure with Basin Recreation, his extensive knowledge of, and passion for, a quality trail system."
With the planned departure of Bonnie Park in May and the reorganization of responsibilities amongst the District's staff, the District is advertising for a Planning and Project Manager, who will train alongside Bonnie before her departure. Park was selected by the Basin Recreation District Board in 1996 as their first hire to oversee development of parks, trails and recreation facilities in the Snyderville Basin at a time of explosive population growth. After serving as District Administrator from 1996-2006, Park gave up that position in order to balance work and family, but stayed on as a project manager and in public affairs. " Seventeen years in the public sector has been very challenging at times, but it is so very rewarding to look back on all that the team at Basin Recreation has accomplished, most especially in light of the recent and remarkable open space acquisitions that have been announced."
Jordan shared that "as District Director I have been very fortunate to have worked with both Bonnie and Senta over the past 5 years and have much admiration and respect for all of the foundation and hard work that they invested in Basin Recreation for the benefit of our community. Both Bonnie and Senta took great care in ensuring that the District was prepared for their personal transitions by training and sharing much that has been developed to date with the District's team. I look forward to all that our leadership team and staff here at Basin Recreation will be able to carry forward because of Bonnie and Senta's hard work. We have a strong team here at the District that are dedicated to ensuring that Basin Recreation continues to deliver outstanding recreational opportunities for our residents."
