IMBA Names Park City the 1st Gold Level Ride Center - 5.14.2012
Written By: Alexis Brown

Basin Recreation already hears the praise; Park City has an amazing trail system that stands above the rest according to visitors and locals alike. But now it's official! The International Mountain Biking Association (IMBA) named the Park City area the first Gold Level Riding Center in the world. On a 100-point scale, Park City received 96 points while other trail systems have yet to break a 90-point score. Basin Recreation Trails Manager Senta Beyer, Trails Maintenance Supervisor Bob Radke, and the trails team work year round to ensure trail guests have exceptional experiences. They are proud to be a part of the greater trail system effort and receive the IMBA award alongside Park City Municipal, Summit County, the Park City Chamber and Visitors Bureau, and the Park City ski resorts.
Radke also received a personal IMBA award for exceptional service in the field. He played a pivotal role in trail building throughout his tenure, including Basin Recreation's new Trailside Bike Park, and continues to work tirelessly with the trails team to maintain over 100 miles of trail. Beyer and Radke showcased upcoming projects at the annual Mountain Trails Foundation Open House, such as the Pinecone Connector off of Mid-Mountain Trail and ongoing Kimball Junction transportation trail plans. Basin Recreation is looking forward to a successful 2012 summer season.
