Winter is Right Around the Corner - 11.10.2011
Written By: Bob Radke

The conditions of the trials can vary greatly from day to day or even hour to hour. Get out and enjoy the trails but please pay attention to the weather and trail conditions. The dirt can be frozen in the early part of the day and then thaw to mud rather quickly when temperatures rise. Please do not use trails that are execessively muddy. Trails covered in snow such as Rob's Trail, UOP Trail, and Summit Park trails offer great hiking this time of year. Trails in the lower elevations on north facing slopes are sure to be frozen in the mornings and muddy in the afternoons.
Trailside Bike Park and Road to Arcylon have been closed for the season and the restroom at The Woods of Parley's Lane Trailhead is closed. The Spring Creek Trailhead will be closed on November 14th.
Winter grooming operations will commence as soon as there is enough snow to pack. The grooming reports will be sent out at that time. Now that we have a shiny new underpass to cross SR-224, we will be packing and grooming the Millenium Trail from Whole Foods to the Park City Nursery. It will not be groomed as often as the Willow Creek system but we will make sure there is a good surface to walk on. Also new for this year is a 5K loop just below the Utah Olympic Park. This track will open as soon as conditions permit. This trail is for skiing only. No dogs will be allowed on this trail.

For your most up-to-date trail conditions, please CLICK HERE and you will be directed to our Trails Condition page. Our Trails team is out on the trails daily letting you know the conditions. You can also opt in to receive Bob Radke's Trail Grooming Report once the snow arrives. ENJOY!!!
